The BAM portal: one access point to cultural information in Germany. Workshop on Indexing and Investigation of Artists’ Publications am 14. November 2009 im Neuen Museum Weserburg Bremen

  • Presentation of the BAM-Portal that enables the search in the collections of the participating libraries, archives, museums and other sources in Germany. Information about the workshop: From the 1960s onward, artists, publishers and collectors all over Europe established networks which were quick to spread internationally irregardless of political borders. The large majority of the works which originated in this alternative artists’ movement have not yet been investigated or catalogued, and only a small proportion of them have been published in internet indexes or databases. The aim of this two-day workshop will be to deliberate on the standardization of the registration categories, to work out chief criteria for a comprehensive search mask and thus the foundation for the later digital networking by way of online indexes, and to begin thinking about the exchange of data.
